Wayne was signed on a free from Burnley in the summer but his debut was delayed by injury until December. He had a brief run in the Burnley first team in 1995 but made more appearances on loan at Carlisle the following season.
Wayne came on for the second half in a dismal home defeat by Hartlepool then had a four game run before being subbed at half time down at Brighton. He had 2 more games in February and that was it. I'm stuck for anything else to say about him; he didn't make any glaring errors but didn't do anything to impress either.
He was freed in the summer and went to Doncaster on trial. He played in the opening game of their nightmare 1997-98 season then didn't feature and left at the end of August. He pottered about the non-league scene for a few years with Northwich, Accrington and Barrow.
