296 Christian Lee

Position :  Forward

Played : 2000-01  (on  loan  from  Gillingham)

Appearances : 5

Goals : 1

Christian was the third of the borrowed strikers and the only one of them to score. He started out at Doncaster but made his League debut for Northampton in 1995. After 8 goals in 59 appearances he moved to Gillingham for £35,000 in 1999 but went down to a knee injury after only 3 games and was then unable to get back into the side.

Christian was a big guy who looked to have all the attributes of a centre forward but his fitness was questionable. He scored with a header at home to Macclesfield in October in his second game coming on as sub. On the back of that and Tony Ellis’s mysterious withdrawal from the Exeter away game he got a couple of starts but didn’t make the most of them and Graham Lancashire’s return to fitness made him surplus to requirements.

After a barren loan spell at Leyton Orient he moved to Bristol Rovers on a short term deal where he scored twice in 9 appearances but wasn’t retained. He then moved to Farnborough Town enjoying a brief (one game) return to League football with Rushden and Diamonds on loan. After another season with Farnborough he signed for Halifax in 2003. He scored 6 in 25 games then had to retire with a back injury in 2005.

He was last heard of modelling lycra for Giordano.
