Stephen was a YTS lad who had made the bench the previous season but made his League debut for Paul Simpson, coming on as sub in the win over Hartlepool.
He got a run in the side when Matt Doughty was injured in Februrary, played against Wolves and acquitted himself quite well . A tall ginger he tackled well and got forward although his crossing wasn't up to much. He only got one game the following season , away at Carlisle where he was absolutely dire and his services were not called on again.
He signed for Radcliffe Borough where he played for three seasons, had a brief spell at Leigh RMI, then returned to Borough. He last played for them in 2009.
