327 Lee Andrews
Position : Centre half
Played : 2002-03 (on loan from Carlisle)
Appearances : 8
Goals : 0
Lee was brought in on a month’s loan in February 2003 to give us some defensive cover over a fixture pile-up caused by the Cup run. Lee was only 18 but had already played a decent number of games for Carlisle .
Lee was mainly used in a 5-man defence and I have to admit I barely remember him, having missed most of his games due to having my appendix out. I don’t think there was any great clamour to sign him permanently.
Lee returned to Carlisle and became a first team regular when Simpson followed him up there. Like Simon Grand he lost his place when Carlisle returned to the Football League and had loan spells with York and Torquay in 2005-06. He joined the latter on a free in the summer of 2006 and was ever-present in the side that got relegated to the Conference in 2007. Though offered a new contract he chose to return north and signed for Newcastle Blue Star. A year later he moved to Workington where he currently plays.
