390 Callum Warburton
Position : Midfield
Played : 2006-07 to 2007-08 (didn't appear in latter season)
Appearances : 4
Goals : 0
Callum brings the Parkin era to an end. He was a YTS player brought into the side for Parkin's last two games in December.
Callum was a left-footed midfielder who could also play at left back. He held his own and looked to have a decent shot on him. Callum retained his place in Keith Hill's first two games but we started winning games as soon as he was dropped and he didn't get a look in once David Perkins arrived. In March 2007 he was loaned to Northwich for whom he made a couple of appearances then went on loan to Kendal Town at the start of the following season.
He was released in January 2008 and signed for Kendal permanently. He moved on to Stalybridge Celtic in 2010 which is a step up so perhaps he will get another crack at League football.
At the end of Callum's second game he left the pitch to cries of "Parkin out" and that happened shortly afterwards. Mr P gave me the glad tidings the following morning and I rejoiced at the good news. Of course I didn't realise quite how good it would turn out to be ....
