Raphael  was  a  YTS  player  who  got   a  first  team  outing  in  the  final  League  game  of  the  2007-08  season  against  Shrewsbury. He  started  at  left  back  to  give  Tom  Kennedy  a  rest  before  the  play-off  games  then  switched  to  his  more  accustomed  position  of  centre  half  when  MArcus  Holness  got  injured. He  did  alright  in  a  game  that  didn't  mean  much  to  either  side.

Raphael  looked  good  in  pre-season in  2008  and  went  out  on  loan  first  to  Bradford  Park  Avenue  and  then  Leigh  Genesis  in  March  2009.  The  latter  spell  came  to  an  abrupt  end  when  he  was  arrested  after  a  nightclub  incident  in  Manchester  which  led  to  a  bouncer's  death. Originally  charged  with  attempted  murder  Raphael  was  one  of  seven  found  guilty  of  violent  disorder  and  got  an  18-month  jail  sentence.

Since  his  release  he  has  been  playing  for  Northwich  Victoria.
