397 Louis Dodds
Position : Forward
Played : 2006-07 (on loan from Leicester)
Appearances : 12
Goals : 2
Louis was brought in to add some extra firepower with Chris Dagnall out injured. He hadn't made his League debut but had scored three times in 6 games on loan at Northwich earlier in the season.
Louis made his debut as a substitute in the 0-0 draw at Hereford but started in half his games and scored his first League goal, a well-taken winner at Chester in his fourth appearance. He wasn't completely convincing ; he had some nice touches but he was a bit lightweight and couldn't hold the ball up . He relinquished his place to Dagnall when the latter recovered but got another goal at Mansfield later in the season.
The following season he went on a year's loan to Lincoln and did well perhaps because they didn't always play him upfront. He scored 9 in 41 appearances. In the summer of 2008 he rejected contract offers from both Leicester and Lincoln to sign a two-year deal with Port Vale. To date he has scored 20 goals in 120 appearances for them.
